Truck Accident Weekly Roundup: June 21 – June 27

WFIN reports a semi-truck accident that occurred on Sunday, June 26 around 3:00pm in Huron County, Ohio. A man and woman traveling on US 224 (east of Seneca County) tried to turn left when their vehicle was struck by a semi-truck. The semi was attempting to pass a vehicle behind the car when the accident took place. The man and woman suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash, and the truck driver received a citation for improper passing.

The Dayton Daily News reports a tractor-trailer accident that occurred on Thursday, June 23 around 9:30am in Franklin, Ohio. According to the Franklin police department, a Toyota sedan and a semi-truck struck one another near a McDonald’s restaurant as the truck driver made an improper left turn. A mother and her three children in the sedan were transported to Southview Medical Center. Two of them sustained minor injuries. The truck driver received a citation.

NJ.com reports a tractor-trailer accident that occurred on Sunday, June 26 around 8:00pm in Clinton Township, New Jersey. According to New Jersey State Police, a tractor-trailer rear-ended a passenger car on Route 78 east. The car spun around after the initial impact, and the tractor-trailer rolled over on top of the car. The semi came to a rest only a few feet from the driver’s seat. Fortunately, the driver was not seriously injured when emergency responders arrived.

News 10 reports a semi-trailer accident that occurred on Friday, June 24 outside of Reno, Nevada. A 43 year-old man driving a semi crashed into an Amtrak train, killing the conductor and 4 passengers on the train. The National Transportation Safety Board later stated that the trucking company involved in the incident had received 7 violations during random inspections throughout 2010. There was no reported visual obstruction of the train from US 95 south. Nine passengers were also injured during the incident, with one remaining in serious condition.
